About

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neuro-developmental disorder that affects how an individual processes information and interprets the world. Each individual with ASD displays a unique combination of characteristics, ranging from mild to severe. Each requiring individually determined educational and treatment programming. Common traits of autism are persistent deficits in social interaction and communication and restricted, repetitive or stereotyped patterns of behavior, interests or activities.

Early identification and intervention is crucial for improving a child’s development and resulting in better outcomes.

We work with education staff to provide both direct and indirect services and support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders from birth to 22 years old. Services we provide include consultation, identification, and assessment.

Consultants and Assessment Specialists work to identify students who may meet the educational criteria for ASD and help identify interventions they may benefit from. Consultants provide expertise and input when planning educational services for students who meet the educational criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder. They also provide resources for the educational staff in implementing these services.
