Early Childhood Family Education
About
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) programs are available to all Minnesota expectant parents and families with children between the ages of birth to kindergarten entrance. These programs are designed to engage parents and families in their child’s growth and development. ECFE classes provide parenting education, practical techniques, and resources for families with young children. These classes can also connect you with other families in your community for support and friendship. ECFE strengthens and empowers families by supporting you as a parent/caregiver and ensuring you have all the necessary tools and knowledge to enrich your child's learning and development.
What Classes Include
ECFE Classes meet one time per week and last about 90 minutes. Classes are instructed by licensed Early Childhood Teachers. We offer a fall and spring session, each lasting a duration of 6 weeks.

Parent-Child Activities - Families explore developmentally appropriate learning and play activities

Parent Discussions - Parents, Caregivers, and ECFE Teachers share support, experiences, guidance, successes, and challenges of this period in the parenting journey. Topics also include early brain development, parent-child relationships, and other topics of child development.

Child Activities - Children learn alongside their peers with a licensed ECFE teacher and support staff. They practice social skills and interacting with each other.

2+ Children in the same Family and Class - $90
Scholarships & Reduced Fees
All families are welcome and will not be denied participation based on their ability to pay.

Scholarships are available which may cover a portion or 100% of class fees

Fees may also be waived when appropriate
Registration & Contact
Early Childhood Family Education classes are offered by Mid-State Education District in partnership with Royalton, Pierz, Swanville, and Upsala Schoool Districts.
